Foundation Programme (1+3+1)
The foundation course is the accepted route of entry to BA courses of art institutions in the UK. With an one-year introductory study, students will explore their talents and interests and future specification in art and design field within a range of options, as well as an introduction to practical studio skills in project-oriented courses. The course introduces five main subject areas: Visual Communication, Product Design, Interior Design, Fine Art and Jewellery Design.
BA+MA Programme (2+2+1)
AIVA is very pleased to announce that this programme is right on track from summer 2009. On the sucessful completion of foundation and first year undergraduate course in China, students will be offered a place to study in the partner institutions in the UK and accomplish their first degree course there. One-year postgraduate course is also avaliable to apply for the graduates.
Pre-master Programme
The Pre-master course involves self-initiated projects under the supervision of course tutor. The main purpose for the course is to equip students with an open-minded perspective and different study approaches through self-initiated projects, in order to prepare students' postgraduate study in the UK. Applicants are expected to hold a BA degree in their chosen subject or have equivalent qualifications and will be evaluated by a portfolio interview.
Short Courses
AIVA offers an extensive programme of short courses for anyone who is interested in art and design. The courses are suitable for people who are either complete beginners or already have skills and knowledge in the general area of study. Currently, short course of contemporary jewellery is available. Knowledge of basic jewellery skills is helpful, but not essential. Initial projects involve working with different materials, leading on to work with your own unique material when using particular techniques.
